The Rangers’ appeal following Tuesday’s red card against Aberdeen for defender Dujon Sterling was denied.

Referee Don Robertson gave replacement Sterling a straight red card for a tackle on Jack MacKenzie in the 88th minute of the Gers’ thrilling 2-1 Premiership triumph at Ibrox.

The VAR asked Robertson to examine his pitchside monitor, but he remained with his decision.

A fast-track tribunal hearing was held on Thursday following Rangers’ appeal to the Scottish Football Association. The result was the dismissal of the claim and the upholding of the initial sentence.

After the game on Tuesday, Rangers manager Philippe Clement commented about the incident, saying, “It was a harsh decision for me.” Dujon stumbled and collided with the opponent’s toes.
