The Cincinnati Bengals, who were considered a Super Bowl contender only a few months ago, are suddenly facing uncertainty in the wake of a disappointing season.

Star wide receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase are up for contract extensions. While Higgins might not get his bag, Chase will most likely obtain his.

As a result, many are curious about Higgins’ future. According to The Sick Podcast, he stated, “It would be good going home,” to the Tennessee Titans, whose new head coach is Brian Callahan, who served as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator for the previous five seasons.

Cincinnati advanced to back-to-back AFC Championship Games and Super Bowl LVI under Callahan, and until injuries dashed their aspirations this season, many believed the team would return.

Due to a calf strain he sustained during training camp, quarterback Joe Burrow struggled early in the season and the team’s performance deteriorated as a result.

Midway through the season, he began to find his rhythm once more, but a wrist injury in Week 11 ended his season early.

Even though Higgins had a history of injuries, missing games because of a rib fracture and hamstring strain, he nevertheless finished with 656 yards and five touchdowns in 12 games.

The Bengals will probably suffer in the long run if he leaves, but that is the reality of playing in a league with a “hard” pay cap.
