On Saturday, Aston Villa plays Fulham in an attempt to get back to winning ways.
On Sunday, Unai Emery’s team lost badly to Manchester United 2-1; Erik ten Hag’s team won all three points thanks to a late header from Scott McTominay.

Aston Villa is well-positioned for the remainder of the season and is only one point out of the Champions League spots despite the loss. Sadly, Emery has recently had to deal with a number of injury concerns, so it’s possible that he may alter the roster for Villa’s trip to West London.
Here, Aston Villa News examines potential starting lineups for Saturday afternoon at three o’clock. Emi Martinez, who was named the team’s January Player of the Month, will most likely start in goal. In the first month of 2024, the Argentinean kept three clean sheets and gave up just three goals.

Matty Cash will probably start at right-back, as he has started Villa’s last two games. Emery should start by making a move in the centre of defence. Diego Carlos is not playing in the match due to a hamstring injury he sustained during training. The clear choice to take the Brazilian’s position is Pau Torres, who is expected to make his first start of 2024. Given that he has started the last seven Premier League games for Villa, Clement Lenglet is practically guaranteed to be chosen right away. Alex Moreno may face competition from Lucas Digne for the left-back position, but as the Spaniard has started most of Villa’s games since the beginning of the season, he may be able to hold onto it. Youri Tielemans should start in midfield in place of the injured Boubacar Kamara as the other alteration. The 24-year-old suffered an ACL injury against Manchester United, forcing him to miss the entire season. Former England captain Bryan Robson previously called Tielemans “brilliant,” so he’ll be trying to seize this opportunity. (The Daily Mail).

Ollie Watkins will likely head Villa’s starting lineup, while John McGinn, Jacob Ramsey, and the very productive Leon Bailey will likely hold their positions. The 2023–24 season demonstrated Aston Villa’s remarkable ability to bounce back. Emery’s team hasn’t dropped a game in a row thus far, and they have successfully recovered from setbacks. A great effort is required this coming weekend. After a poor run of results, Fulham has won its last three games. Villa’s prospects of making the Champions League would be reduced if they were to lose.
