George Evans walked off the previous time out, and Wrexham will have to make a decision about him this weekend, according to their official club website.
This Saturday, Wrexham will play their first League Two match at home against Notts County.
After relocating to the Racecourse Ground last summer, Evans, 29, has established himself as a fixture thus far this season. He had “tightness” in his gluteal muscle, according to the club’s website.
recent Wrexham injury
After joining Wrexham, Evans has proven to be a wise acquisition. Of his 30 appearances across all competitions, 22 have been in the league.
Because he can play defence or midfield, he is a valuable addition to the team. The Welsh team has a deal with the Cheadle native through the summer of 2025.
The former England youth international is a Manchester City academy graduate who made one appearance for the Premier League team. In order to gain experience, he also had loan stints with Crewe Alexandra, Walsall, and Scunthorpe United in the Football League. After that, he worked permanently for Reading, Derby County, and Millwall. Last year, Wrexham approached him, and he left their positions after two divisions.
This season, the Red Dragons, who currently sit fourth in the standings, hope to be promoted to League One. With two games remaining, they are two points behind Crewe in third place.
Phil Parkinson’s team has an important game against Notts County, and Luke Young can replace Evans if he is unable to participate. Following their fierce competition for the championship, the two were promoted from the National League together last season. Last time out, Wrexham defeated Sutton United 2-1 on the road.
