EA Sports has returned to the college football scene following an 11-year absence. This summer, “College Football 25” is slated for release, and it will be interesting to see who appears on the cover of one of the most anticipated video games in a long time. While EA Sports has a number of excellent choices for its next cover star, these five applicants ought to be considered for the position.

Since EA Sports launched “NCAA Football 14,” we’ve seen a lot of celebrities come and go from the collegiate ranks. For that reason, it makes sense to select a former player who didn’t appear in any previous college football games as this year’s cover athlete. If EA had created a game when Jackson was a student, he would have been among the greatest players in the history of the series. Jackson was a standout player at Louisville from 2015 to 2017.

During his tenure with the Cardinals, the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner solidified his status as one of the finest dual-threat quarterbacks in college football history. In his three seasons, Jackson gained 4,132 yards and 50 touchdowns on the ground in addition to throwing for 9,043 yards and 69 touchdowns. Nevertheless, Jackson enters at

4.  Former LSU QB Jayden Daniels

Daniels should be chosen over Caleb Williams, the likely number one choice, as the cover athlete if EA decides to highlight a player who will enter the 2024 NFL Draft. Daniels won the Heisman Trophy in 2023. Since Michael Jackson dominated the ACC, Daniels has displayed some of the most amazing rushing ability of any quarterback. Daniels has amassed the second-most touchdowns in college football history with 4,946 yards of total offence (3,812 passing, 1,134 rushing) in 12 games this season.

Daniels, an Arizona State transfer, needed some time to develop into the player he is now. In “Road to Glory” mode, where players take charge of their own customised athletes, fans can relate to his work ethic and tenacity as they climb the depth chart.

3. Former LSU QB Joe Burrow

An additional retro choice is the current Cincinnati Bengals star, who had maybe the best individual season of any player since the release of “NCAA Football 14” ever. In his unprecedented 2019 Heisman Trophy-winning season, Burrow finished 25-3 as the starting quarterback for LSU, helping the Tigers to a perfect 15-0 record and a national championship win. In terms of touchdown passes (60), touchdowns attributed to (65), points attributed to (392), and total offensive yards (6,039), Burrow set FBS single-season records in that year.

2.  Texas QB Quinn Ewers

It appears highly probable that “College Football 25” will feature a current college football player on its cover. Shedeur Sanders of Colorado might be an intriguing pick, but the Buffaloes aren’t nearly as good a squad as the Longhorns. Not to add, Ewers is perhaps the best quarterback that will be playing college football again the next season.

Ewers has lived up to his five-star reputation since leaving Ohio State in December 2021. In the last two seasons, he has thrown for 5,656 yards and 37 touchdowns. A good idea to advertise the SEC realignment and the game’s new transfer portal feature would be to put the former Buckeye on the cover.

1. Former Alabama HC Nick Saban

Since Bill Walsh, a coach hasn’t been featured on the cover of a college football video game produced by EA Sports, but Saban would be the ideal pick to bring the franchise into the next phase. Surprisingly, the 72-year-old announced his retirement from leading the Crimson Tide last month. In his 28 years as a collegiate coach, he won seven national titles and had zero losing seasons.

In Saban’s 17 years as head coach of Alabama, the team finished 206-29 (five victories nullified by the NCAA), advanced eight times to the College Football Playoffs, claimed six national championships, and had four Heisman Trophy winners. In addition, 49 players—and counting—who were coached by Saban throughout his tenure as head coach were selected in the first round of the NFL draft.

It’s a pretty easy choice to have Nick Saban on the cover of “College Football 25,” considering he’s undoubtedly the most iconic and well-respected person in college football history. Still, perhaps Saban is more worthy of the cover of a deluxe edition copy of the game, considering his impressive résumé.
