Following Celtic’s subsequent point loss to Kilmarnock this afternoon, supporters are left wondering how Brendan Rodgers could salvage a title defence that has collapsed horribly so far this season.
After Celtic’s draw with Kilmarnock, they have now lost nine home games this season. Rodgers will now need to try to get his team back on track for their away game against Motherwell on Sunday.

The Celtic manager responded to yet another unsatisfactory outcome in a season that is clearly beginning to unravel as the supporters expressed their anger with a chorus of boos at the final whistle.
Following the chorus of full-time jeers, Rodgers was asked whether he had any words of wisdom for the Celtic supporters. He responded, “There’s still a long way to go,” [BBC Radio Scotland]. And it will undoubtedly fluctuate between now and the final game. As I’ve stated previously, there was never going to be a parade. We are there to fight for every title that exists. Even if the score had been 1-0 today, the fans’ reaction would still have made sense to me.

Thus, I can completely understand how we should draw the game if we are able to. All I can say is that following a disappointing outcome, we’ll be doing all within our power to improve the team’s position so they can play again the following week. And all we have to do is stick with the team and receive the fantastic support they always provide.

Celtic under duress
Following consecutive losses to Kilmarnock and Hearts in December, Celtic enjoyed a six-game winning run before losing at Pittodrie. Even if a lot of people would argue it isn’t a poor run of outcomes, the performances in those victories were far from stellar. After labouring at Easter Road, Celtic needed two penalties to defeat Hibs. Alistair Johnston’s goal in the first minute of play at Celtic Park in January was sufficient to give the team victory over a struggling Ross County team. Today will be crucial in the championship race because of this team’s costly inability to eliminate their opponents.
The fact that this team, led by Brendan Rodgers, shows no signs of having what it takes to produce success when it matters most will worry Celtic supporters. This season, Celtic have drew four times against teams that have been struggling at the bottom of the standings. This team’s terrifying lack of innovation will cost Celtic the championship if Rodgers can’t come up with a quick fix.
