Despite rumours linking him to Barcelona or Liverpool, Roberto De Zerbi has acknowledged that he is content at Brighton & Hove Albion and is willing to working for “a big, big team” in the future.
De Zerbi has been linked to a move to Catalonia by the Catalan press, and earlier this week, 90min stated that the Italian is a strong candidate to follow Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Barca is now searching for a replacement for head coach Xavi.

De Zerbi stated in an interview with Sky Sports that while his goal is to help Brighton, he is still committed to competing for championships in the future. De Zerbi said, “We feel we can write another part of Brighton’s history.”
“We are all aware of our obligation, and we are doing all in our power to satisfy both the club’s employees and supporters. We’ll do our best, we promise.
It is an honour to learn that major teams are considering me. Though I am proud, my daily priorities are my work.

“I want to compete as best I can, therefore I will talk to the club and the owner, Tony Bloom, about the future. After I fully get the idea, working in a large team or another large team won’t be an issue.
“I would like to compete in and win the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, and Champions League at some point in my career, but there is no set period of time when you have to wait to compete.”

Since I was born at AC Milan, I don’t view Milan as a typical club. I shall be eternally thankful to Milan for my entire life. “I adore Italy, my home country, and Italian football. Undoubtedly, returning to my home country to work is one of my goals, although I’m not sure when that will happen.
“I have to thank Brighton and all of the coaches and individuals involved in [and supporting] the Premier League in the UK. I am feeling extremely well in the Premier League.

“But it is not a problem where you work, it is how you are working, not the place.”
After Graham Potter joined Chelsea in September 2022, De Zerbi assumed leadership of Brighton. The Italian, in his first season with the Seagulls, guided the team to its best-ever league result, finishing sixth in the Premier League standings and earning a first-ever trip to Europe.
Brighton qualified for the Europa League round of 16 after topping a group that included Ajax, Marseille, and AEK Athens. They can also advance to the seventh slot in the Premier League standings by winning at Sheffield United on Sunday.
