Football Insider has been informed by insiders that Celtic, although behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership title race, is not planning to respond hastily over Brendan Rodgers’ future. After a string of stunning victories on Sunday, February 18, the Gers moved two points clear of their Old Firm opponents and are now in the driver’s seat to win the championship. On Saturday, February 17, Celtic and Kilmarnock tied 1-1, giving Rangers the advantage in the title match.
This development has led to an inquest at Parkhead, where Rodgers’ managers are attempting to ascertain what is causing the team’s current downturn.

After Rangers’ title comeback, is Rodgers going to be fired by Celtics?
Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that the 51-year-old’s position is unlikely to change before the 2023–24 season ends. There are still two Old Firm games left this season, and Celtic will be optimistic about their chances after winning the first two meetings.

Rodgers took Ange Postecoglou’s position, the current Tottenham manager, as Parkhead’s manager during the summer of 2023. After an incredibly successful first season with Celtic, when he won trebles in consecutive seasons, he made his way back to Glasgow. Since his return, the Northern Irishman has emerged victorious in 22 out of 35 games across all categories. With only one group-stage victory this season, Celtic was eliminated from the Champions League and will not play in Europe again.

Rodgers’ side are next in action against Motherwell on Sunday (25 February).

The next clash with Rangers is scheduled for 7 April.
