Leeds United’s trip to Plymouth Argyle on Saturday resulted in another Championship victory.

After destroying Swansea City 4-0 the previous week, Leeds United defeated Plymouth Argyle on Saturday to win the Championship for the seventh time in a row and pick up three more points away from home.

The Whites want to maintain their second-place standing and gain automatic promotion to the Premier League. The summer transfer window will probably be greatly influenced by where they play the following season, particularly in terms of holding onto quality players.

So far this season, Crysencio Summerville has contributed eight assists and 15 goals to the league, making him one of Daniel Farke’s most valuable players. Of course, though, in this intense competition for promotions, other Elland Road performers have also been making an impression with their performances.

The adaptable Wilfried Gnonto, who scored his sixth goal in as many games at Home Park over the weekend, was highly praised for his efforts. After barely ten minutes, the 20-year-old gave Leeds the lead when he brilliantly deflected a ball from Georginio Rutter and poked it beyond the goalie.
This season in the Championship, Gnonto has had a mixed record, starting 11 games and substituting for others on 14 occasions. Even though Dan James is recovered from his recent injury, the Italian is expected to maintain his place in the starting lineup due to his previous performance and eye for goal.

Former Whites defender and analyst Jon Newsome remarked, “He took a gamble, that big high ball from Georginio Rutter, Gibson underneath it didn’t know how to deal with it and he was bright and alive,” in an interview with BBC Radio Leeds following the game. Even though his touch wasn’t the best, he was alert to the second ball, which is what confident, good players do.

“They’re prepared to seize any chance. He creates something out of nothing, even when there wasn’t even a remote probability. You could wager a lot of money that he will start against Leicester on Friday unless something strange happens.” Leeds will try to upset leaders Leicester in this much awaited matchup at the top of the table. With plenty of time remaining to take advantage of any mistakes made by the Foxes, Farke’s team can cut the deficit to six points if they can lead them to yet another victory.
