Michael Stewart maintains that the Celtic board’s lack of support for Brendan Rodgers is “astonishing”. The previous dismal performances, which included another tie with Aberdeen and a loss at home to Hearts, preceded the Hoops’ slip-up against Kilmarnock in a 1-1 draw last Saturday. The BBC Sport analyst is shocked by Stewart’s belief that the boardroom went against the manager’s wishes after pledging to finance his comeback. Stewart is also certain that they must retain the Northern Irishman and support him no matter what comes up in the upcoming season.
Stewart stated to the Scottish football podcast, “For me, they keep Brendan Rodgers, regardless of whether they win the league or not.”

“The main issue I have, far more than I should, is that Brendan Rodgers appears to be a poor replica of the manager we saw in the past, even though he is a good manager now.

And what really strikes me is that we all thought they would heavily support Brendan in order to get him back into the game. I find it astounding how much it has changed in the opposite direction. Therefore, even if they don’t win the league, I still believe that they should go back and support him appropriately the next summer.
