Due to Wrexham’s lack of a midfield player in January, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney may be regretting their decision.

Consequently, what happened?
On deadline day, the Red Dragons added forward Jack Marriott and defender Luke Bolton to their roster in the winter transfer window. Although they currently have plenty of players at either end of the pitch, Phil Parkinson lacks depth in the middle of the park due to injuries to players like George Evans, Tom O’Connor, and James Jones.

PARKINSON’S MENTION
Before meeting with MK Dons, the manager of Wrexham stated the following about that situation: Ben Tozer, who wasn’t on the squad on Saturday, Luke Bolton, Jacob Mendy, Aaron Hayden, and Jordan Tunnicliffe at the back round round round out our strong forward lineup. We will certainly have to make adjustments and manage our shortfall in the midfield. We still have choices.

It is inevitable that injuries will occur in sports, and since we had a few on Saturday, we shall have a headcount. We will carefully consider the injured players and the MK Dons squad before heading down there prepared to perform well and see if it is sufficient on the evening.

THE LARGER IMAGE
After defeating their longtime rivals Notts County in their most recent League Two match, Wrexham is now getting ready for three straight away games against Gillingham, Forest Green Rovers, and the Dons. Regarding that task, Parkinson continued, “We are up for that.” For that, we are ready.

FUTURE PLANS FOR WREXHAM?
Wrexham has made a comeback to the automatic promotion spots in League Two thanks to back-to-back victories; they now sit just three points behind Stockport, who are leading the league. They still claim to have an advantage over everyone else in the area by at least one game, thus the “Welcome to Wrexham” documentary cameras may have to record another championship celebration in 2024.
