The stadium at MK Dons amazed Wrexham owner Rob McElhenney, but the Always Sunny singer also took a playful jab at their League Two opponents.
Consequently, what happened?
For their league matchup against the Dons on Tuesday night, the Red Dragons travelled to Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. And when McElhenney arrived, the stadium’s two levels and 30,500 capacity captivated him. All of the seats in the arena are black, and the club name and crest are written in white on one side.
THOUGHS OF ROB MCELHENNEY
McElhenney tweeted, saying, “@MKDonsFC stadium is beautiful.” Naturally, we would adore shattering your hearts in it. Similar to how you treated us at our house. 😂 💔 Reds, get going! @Wrexham_AFC.

McElhenney was alluding to the Dons’ 5-3 loss to Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground back in August. Phil Parkinson’s team had a terrible night as they trailed 4-1 at one point before scoring two goals in the dying minutes that proved to be too little, too late.
Next?
When James McClean gave Wrexham the lead in the 22nd minute, they appeared to be a team determined to win all three points against MK Dons. Their happiness was short-lived, though, as Dan Kemp equalised after only four minutes. Following a winless streak, Wrexham entered this game fresh off two victories, with McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds’ team vying for an automatic promotion slot. They will go further as they prepare to play Gillingham in League Two on Saturday.
