At the age of 36, Steven Fletcher is having fun with football once more. The veteran striker at Wrexham is enjoying his time with Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

Consequently, what happened?
Upon his release by Dundee United in June 2023, following a campaign that resulted in relegation out of the Scottish Premiership, there was a possibility that the former Scotland international might announce his retirement.

FLETCHER’S MENTION
But Fletcher received a very fascinating offer from Hollywood stars in North Wales, and he stated, “I am really enjoying it here, especially at my age,” about finding a newfound spark in the later stages of his career. It’s nice to be back here enjoying football after a difficult season last year. It’s good to be in a situation where you’re nearing the conclusion of your career and competing for a promotion.

March will mark Fletcher’s 37th birthday. He has scored seven goals for Wrexham this season, including a hat-trick against Barrow and the game-winning goal against Notts County the other night. After making 20 appearances, he continued, “I can’t complain with seven goals.” All I have to do is maintain that and remain a member of the team.

UP NEXT FOR WREXHAM & FLETCHER?
Fletcher and Paul Mullin have been identified by Phil Parkinson as his preferred attack duo, and they could receive another chance to start on Tuesday when the Red Dragons travel to MK Dons. They are third in the League Two standings going into the match, but they have victories against every team in their immediate vicinity.
