John Lundstram is expected to sign a new contract with the Rangers that would keep him at Ibrox for the upcoming season as well as beyond.

The midfield player was among the celebrities who faced criticism when Michael Beale was in charge. After moving from Sheffield United in 2021, he played a crucial role in the team’s 2022 run to the Europa League final.

Lundstram’s comeback to form since Philippe Clement joined the team has put his future squarely in the public eye. His contract, along with those of several other senior talents including Borna Barisic and Ryan Jack, expires at the end of this season.

According to The Rangers Review, Lundstram will not be wearing blue come playoff time. ‘The club are dedicated to securing Lundstram’s services for next season and beyond, and an agreement is imminent in the coming weeks,’ it reads. The 30-year-old has made 138 appearances for the Rangers total, including 38 this season. Regarding Lundstram, Clement stated in January, “There is a financial dispute between John and the club.

“It is evident that both parties want to sign the new agreement. However, in the upcoming days, weeks, and months, we shall see.

He is in a position to sign with another party. However, it’s obvious that he enjoys his work at Rangers and how we operate. I’ve been told by everyone that he’s performing at a higher level than he did at the start of the season.

Thus, I want him to keep acting in that way so that the two sides may work out a solution. Did I let him know that I wanted him to stay? My thoughts on it are evident because I communicate with my players on a daily basis.
