The Athletic has learned from anonymous sources that David Moyes and Tim Steidten, the West Ham executives, are at odds right now.

On Friday, February 23, the news source stated on its website that the Hammers have taken steps to refute the allegations as the pressure mounts on the Scotsman following eight games without a win.

Steidten, who became a member of the team last summer as technical director, will reportedly have a “significant say” on who will be in command at the London Stadium come football season.

West Ham chiefs must improve relationship

Ever since Steidten joined West Ham, there have been rumours circulating that he and Moyes haven’t agreed on a number of things.

It is thought that the two have clashed over moves in their two windows of collaboration thus far, with Kalvin Phillips being the only one to arrive on loan in January.

The technical director now seems to have his foot firmly under the table, so Moyes will only need to figure out a way to work with him if he wants to stay on at the London Stadium.

It has been claimed that the German has begun gathering names of possible replacement managers as early as October, in case we decide not to give the Scotsman another chance to stay in East London.

He will understand that this is a results-driven industry and that, should things on the pitch not rapidly improve, his prior achievements at the club might not be enough to keep him in it.

In unrelated West Ham news, a BBC Sport executive has revealed the latest Moyes dismissal decision.
