Brendan Rodgers wants to make sure that his team isn’t overloaded with marginal players, thus Celtic has approved a number of loan departures this season.

Two well-known players who were farmed out for the rest of the season were Marco Tilio and Republic of Ireland international Mikey Johnston, who joined Melbourne City and West Bromwich Albion, respectively, during the January window.

Adam Montgomery and Hyeokkyu Kwon signed short-term contracts with St Mirren and Motherwell, respectively; the latter was forced to return to Lennoxtown following a major hamstring injury.

Forgotten defender Yuki Kobayashi will stay at Parkhead for the time being, despite recent rumours that he could leave on loan to HJK Helsinki, a formidable team in Finland [Football Scotland].

Lower down the hierarchy, MacKenzie Carse, a teenage player on the Celtic B Team, completed his move to Queens Park, and legendary scorer Johnny Kenny renewed his contract with Shamrock Rovers.

To please Rodgers, the Bhoys have a tonne of talent scattered across different clubs, whether it’s to help cut down on wages or acquire experience.

Celtic’s Josh Clarke joins Ayr United for the remainder of this term

Josh Clarke, a young goalie, completed his loan move to Ayr United earlier today, and he will play out the rest of the season there, Celtic stated on social media.

Clarke will look to expand on his 15 appearances this campaign and earn two clean sheets in the process now that he has the opportunity to work with Scott Brown at Somerset Park [Transfermarkt].

With Joe Hart set to retire in the near future, the 19-year-old will get a chance to demonstrate his skills before the start of the following season.
