Following Leeds United’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City, Archie Grey, a star for the team, delivered a message to Connor Roberts.
In Friday’s (February 23) triumph at Elland Road, both players registered goals, with Patrick Bamford adding another for the home team.
Wout Faes had given the visitors the early lead in the Championship match before their scores.
Roberts celebrated the goal and victory on Instagram, writing, “Absolutely whomping night at Elland Road last night!” A HUGE three points, including a goal off the bunion! Grey, another member of his Leeds crew, was one among the commenters on the post.
Leeds United overcome Leicester City in massive win
Roberts is undoubtedly correct when he claims that the Whites have just won a huge three points, putting them just six points behind the Foxes in the standings.
In what was the league leaders’ ideal start, Enzo Maresca’s team claimed a well-earned lead at Elland Road after just 15 minutes of play.
However, the home team persisted and in the 80th minute, Roberts managed to break the tie.
After just three minutes, Grey scored a deflected goal, then Bamford sealed the win in stoppage time.
Elland Road was electrified by the incredible comeback, and Daniel Farke was undoubtedly overjoyed by his team’s tenacity throughout the whole ninety minutes.
Roberts and Grey, on the other hand, will be ecstatic to have scored their first goals for the West Yorkshire team, especially considering that they did so at such a pivotal moment in the match.
In unrelated Leeds United news, Gretar Steinsson has received praise for a transfer that went unnoticed at Elland Road.
