Majid Balogun and Mason Cotcher, two England youth internationals, are allegedly on trial at Leeds United this month.
Other than signing new contracts for important players, the Whites’ options for long-term squad improvement are currently limited.
Leeds’ depth in the academy has suffered at the younger levels as a result of several players who were on the periphery of senior involvement leaving, leaving vacancies.
Leeds hand trials to England youth duo
Last weekend, LUFC Youth revealed that Leeds had sent two young English players on trial this month.
Mason Cotcher, a former Southampton forward, and Majid Balogun, a former Manchester United player, were those two players (17).
Both players are forwards who just left their respective teams and have been searching for new clubs.
Leeds could be looking to seriously strengthen at youth level
This season’s departures of Sean McGurk, Lewis Bate, and other players to teams lower in the EFL illustrate that placing a lot of hope in young development may not always pay off.
But the team has recently lost a number of U21 mainstays, therefore individuals of a similar level must take their place.
Leeds may be able to add players to the academy with these two that might end up saving them a significant amount of money down the road.
It would be fantastic news to have them at Thorp Arch as they are both highly sought-after athletes who have been tipped for careers at some of the top in the nation.
