Victory on Saturday marked the start of Oliver Glasner’s rule at Crystal Palace, and the Austrian has garnered a lot of support ever since. Oliver Glasner’s reign began magnificently on Saturday as Crystal Palace defeated Burnley 3-0.
Three goals nicely captured the Eagles’ dominance over an admittedly weak Burnley team.
The three points were secured by goals from the incredible Chris Richards, the scorching Jordan Ayew, and Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Naturally, focus has now shifted to playing Spurs this coming Saturday, and Glasner has received a huge lift in advance of the match.
Oliver Glasner handed huge boost ahead of Spurs
Glasner will therefore be searching for any encouragement he can get ahead of a difficult test against Ange Postecoglou, and he has just received one.
Journalist Edmund Brack reports that Eberechi Eze, who is still recovering from injury, will be back in Palace’s matchday lineup this next weekend.
With the possible exception of Michael Olise, Eze is arguably the finest player at the team, thus Glasner will be thrilled to have him back.
Since Eze and Glasner were spotted together in the club’s video from last week, people naturally grew quite excited about the possibility of Eze playing again under Glasner.
Although this is a positive development, it isn’t as positive as it may have been given the disclosure of a negative as well.
Marc Guehi won’t be fit for this weekend for Crystal Palace
Palace doesn’t anticipate Marc Guehi to make a comeback for the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but anything can yet happen.
But given that these are merely “early indications,” based on how this week plays out, there may be room for him.
However, the fact that it’s uncertain bodes well for the upcoming games, as Olise might not play with a fully loaded squad.
