Since going to Parkhead on loan last month, Adam Idah, a striker for Celtic, has emerged as a key component of Brendan Rodgers’ assault.

On deadline day, the Republic of Ireland international arrived with little fanfare, but it’s difficult to imagine where the Bhoys would be without him.

Idah, who had previously assisted on his debut away to Aberdeen, netted two pressure penalties at Easter Road against Hibernian to help the Bhoys secure a dramatic victory in their ongoing Scottish Premiership race.

The 23-year-old replaced Kyogo Furuhashi off the bench during last weekend’s match against Motherwell, when his team needed to overcome a one-goal deficit at halftime.

Idah, who makes it a habit to come out on top, answered by scoring twice at Fir Park, including one in the 94th minute to make sure his team didn’t let Rangers pull ahead in the title fight.

Given Idah’s outstanding form, it would be shocking if he wasn’t chosen to start against Dundee tomorrow night.

When his loan arrangement expires this summer, he might be available for a fee above £3 million, according to reports from Ireland. If he keeps up his current performance, this might be a deal that’s too good to refuse.

Adam Idah reveals main reasons behind his Celtic form

Idah plays a cool-headed guy who doesn’t appear to be too phased by the idea of starting at the front for Celtic.

The Cork native acknowledged that, in spite of the strain that comes with donning the green and white shirt, he actually enjoys the extra pressure placed on him.

He clarified, citing The Celtic Way: “Look, there’s going to be pressure before every game. Because Celtic is such a large club and has such high expectations for all of its members, there is always pressure there.

“I think I thrive off pressure,” he said afterwards. That’s what makes me happy. That’s the main reason why many players play football. You get that little bit of incentive from that pressure. That’s when I know I perform at my best.

Even though Idah’s Celtic career is only in its early stages, he has already aced every exam that has been thrown at him.

Even if discussions about his long-term future are ongoing, all he can do is continue to seize the opportunity to perform well on the pitch.

In the upcoming weeks, Rodgers, who called his performance on Sunday “outstanding,” has a good chance of earning a longer stint in the starting lineup under the former Liverpool boss.
