While James Jones and George Evans are still expected to play for the remainder of the season, Phil Parkinson has not provided an estimated timetable for their comeback.
Wrexham will once more be without the midfield pair as they take on lowly Forest Green Rovers at The New Lawn tonight in the League Two promotion challenge.
Jones hobbled off after Wrexham defeated Notts County 1-0 at The Racecourse ten days ago due to a hamstring issue, while Evans suffered a glute injury in the 2-1 victory at Sutton United two weeks ago.
Although the two’s stints on the sidelines are lengthier than initially anticipated, there are still 13 games left in their pursuit of a second consecutive
“I expect them to play again this season but they are facing longer term injuries than we first thought,” the manager of the Reds stated.
“We will get them both rescanned and we will know clearer when we have got those second scans.”
Another midfielder who has played as the left-sided center-back for most of the season, Tom O’Connor, is healing well from a minor foot fracture that he sustained prior to the Welsh derby loss at Newport on January 20, though he is still not expected to return.
