According to Derek Ferguson, Ben Davies will probably leave Rangers in the summer, and there may be a player exodus at Ibrox.

Journalist Chris Jack of the Rangers Review speculated on February 21 that Philippe Clement may consider moving on from the 28-year-old in order to make room for him to strengthen his defence.

Despite having significant injury concerns, Davies has only made four starts in the Scottish Premiership this season, the most recent being in a 2-1 victory over Hearts on October 29.

Ferguson believes that the player and the team should terminate their relationship in the summer, even though he anticipates becoming one of many players to go on to fresh opportunities.

He said to Ibrox News, “I think any player when they’re training, they’re fit, they want to be playing, and that lack of game time it must irk him to some extent.”

“You look at the Rangers team they currently have; will this be challenging? Is he liked by the new manager? These are unanswered questions.

But I’d like to play if I were Ben Davies. He is currently 28 years old, and I believe that at that age, playing becomes really significant.

“He could be among those who depart. It will take some time, but the manager will bring in his own personnel, so he won’t be the only one leaving. I anticipate that there will be quite a few.

Will Rangers sell Ben Davies in the summer transfer window?

Davies has found it difficult to establish himself as a regular in current Rangers lineup; Clement’s preferred tandem is Connor Goldson and John Souttar.

Ferguson is correct; Davies ought to be playing given his age. His salaries may be a deterrent for potential Championship suitors, but overall, it seems like he would attract a lot of interest.

However, Clement is clearly of the opinion that he has better options available to him, and it is likely that he will wish to assemble his own team during the upcoming transfer window.

Thus, it follows naturally that Rangers will try to get rid of Davies this summer.
