The official for Celtic’s trip to Tynecastle has been confirmed: the referee and the VAR officials. The Bhoys travel to Gorgie on Sunday in an attempt to pick up three vital Scottish Premiership points.

On Wednesday night, Dundee was thoroughly defeated, 7-1. The Celts have the greatest amount of momentum heading into Sunday’s match thanks to this and their late 3-1 triumph over Motherwell over the weekend.

Less than 600 away fans will be in the capital, but the champs weren’t phased early in the season. When the teams last faced off, Hearts prevailed 4-1, while the Hoops crushed the Jambos in an outstanding victory back in October.

Steven Naismith’s team left Parkhead with all three points in mid-December. Brendan Rodgers is not able to give a repeat performance this time.

The officials for the game have been confirmed. Daniel McFarlane and Ross Macleod will operate the lines, and Don Robertson will oversee the whole thing. The fourth official is expected to be Graham Grainger. John Beaton, with help from Andrew McWilliam, is on VAR.

The Hoops are hoping that this weekend’s shenanigans by the referee and his cronies won’t be taken into account, but with Scottish football, you never know.

The game will kick off on Sunday at noon and be televised live on Sky Sports.
