The forgotten man of West Ham United may make a comeback to the starting line-up for tomorrow’s match against Everton, according to David Moyes.
In order to demonstrate that our performance against Brentford was not an anomaly, West Ham manager David Moyes is in dire need of another victory this coming Saturday.
Speaking to media this afternoon, Moyes said that, although Lucas Paqueta’s return from injury against Brentford worried him, he is fine to play against the Toffees.
The Scottish player also talked about the possibility of another player joining the team tomorrow. It appears that Aaron Cresswell was absent for our match against Brentford as a precaution.
The 34-year-old hasn’t played much for the first team this year, but he will at least be a welcome return to the group.
Moyes says forgotten man could return to West Ham squad
Prior to our matchup with Everton this coming weekend, the manager of the Hammers spoke to the media today.
According to WHUFC.com, Moyes also hinted that Cresswell might rejoin the team tomorrow:
“We didn’t want to take a chance with Aaron Cresswell because he felt his calf and Achilles a little bit before the Brentford game, but he’s fine for this weekend.”
With just seven appearances across all competitions for a total of 348 minutes, Cresswell is West Ham’s forgotten man this season (Transfermarkt).
Although it’s obvious that the 34-year-old has reached his peak and will probably depart the team this summer, having his expertise and knowledge in the dressing room from now until the conclusion of the season might be quite valuable.
It’s obvious that Moyes still has faith in the seasoned West Ham left-back, and we might need him for a couple of games in the coming months.
