According to Ryan Barnett, Wrexham wants to even the score this time around and hasn’t forgotten Accrington Stanley’s “heavy” celebrations after their previous match.

Consequently, what happened?
In November, Accrington defeated Wrexham 2-0 and celebrated the triumph extravagantly at Crown Ground. Now, when they play at the Racecourse on Saturday, wing-back Barnett—who was sidelined for that match because of a knee injury—wants to even the score.

RYAN BARNETT’S MENTION
“I was injured for that game but the lads said Accrington celebrated quite heavily after that win,” he remarked to the Welsh newspaper The Leader. You don’t need to take it personally. We rejoice when we win games, so you have to be understanding. Bring it on, it would be good to get the better of them. Playing for this club comes with the expectation that you will be beaten by everyone. We’ve nearly treated it as a challenge since I’ve been here. We are aware that every team will play with their all in an effort to defeat Wrexham, but we will be prepared.”

THE LARGER IMAGE
There is some tension between the two teams in this match because in the previous match, there was a verbal altercation about Accrington’s ticket prices. The Red Dragons have plenty of motivation from that, the “heavy” celebrations, and the possibility of Wrexham returning to the automatic promotion spots if results go their way.

Next?
next this encounter against Accrington, fourth-place Wrexham—who have only triumphed in two of their previous eight games—will travel to Morecambe the next weekend. On March 12 and 16, respectively, they will play two consecutive home games against Harrogate Town and Tranmere.
