An examination of the possibilities available to Leeds United manager Daniel Farke for today’s Championship matchup against Huddersfield Town, the team’s neighbours in Yorkshire

Leeds United has made some money from their recent visits to the John Smith’s Stadium. They have defeated Huddersfield Town 2-1 in their last two league away trips, with three victories coming under Garry Monk’s coaching.

The Whites are the clear favourites to win all three points going into today’s Yorkshire derby. In front of the Sky cameras, United’s victory would create a new club record for the most consecutive league victories—ten.

But for Farke, the goal is to continue their incredible run of form. The manager of the Whites stated: “To be honest, I would absolutely take another victory.

“More for the sake of stabilisation and future situational improvement than for the record books. The lads are having a fantastic run, but we also want to be there after 46 games in a solid position, so every point matters, especially in a game this tough after working so hard yesterday night. It’s critical that we continue.

As United gets ready for the first of three games in a week, Farke is anticipated to make some changes to his starting lineup. Georginio Rutter, the talisman forward, is expected to return after sitting out the Chelsea FA Cup fifth round match. Patrick Bamford and Crysencio Summerville are also expected to be called up.

Today’s clash may come too soon for midfielder Illia Gruev, meaning Archie Gray may partner Glen Kamara in the centre. The Whites are hopeful Joe Gelhardt (back spasm) will be fit enough to take his place on the bench.

Jamie Shackleton (illness) is definitely ruled out along with Pascal Struijk and Stuart Dallas. Shot-stopper Karl Darlow is nearing a first team return following a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury but Farke may resist the temptation, for now, to throw him back into the squad.

Leeds United squad for Huddersfield Town: Meslier, Klaesson, Van den Heuvel, Roberts, Gray, Rodon, Firpo, Byram, Cooper, Cresswell, Ampadu, Kamara, James, Gnonto, Summerville, Anthony, Bamford, Piroe, Rutter, Gelhardt, Joseph.
