Senior West Ham United sources are adamant that they will wait until the conclusion of the season, before the Hammers’ match against Everton, to decide David Moyes’ long-term future.
On Saturday, March 2, the Scotsman will play against the Irons at Goodison Park in an attempt to win the Premier League for the second time in a row after the Hammers defeated Brentford last time out.
A top West Ham source has revealed that neither Moyes nor the Hammers will make a final decision before the conclusion of the season, despite Moyes’s insistence that he has been given a contract extension at the London Stadium. They stated, “We review it at the end of the season as we always do,” as cited by Hammers News on Saturday, March 2.
Will David Moyes be sacked by West Ham United after Everton clash?
After the Hammers’ recent dismal performance, supporters’ opinions on Moyes and whether the Scotsman should sign a new contract in East London remain sharply divided.
Some fans’ emotions may have subsided after the Irons’ victory over Brentford at the London Stadium and their more aggressive and dynamic style, but it won’t matter if they don’t follow it up with another significant victory at Goodison Park.
The Irons and Moyes have given themselves plenty of time to make the right choice rather than a snap decision by delaying the decision until the conclusion of the season, but doing so has also created some doubt among the football team.
By the time the next season arrives, hopefully, some clarity on who will be in the dugout will become apparent sooner rather than later. West Ham needs three points against the Toffees till then.
