Following his hat-trick in the first half of Wrexham’s thrilling 4-0 victory over Accrington Stanley at The Racecourse on Saturday, Phil Parkinson said Paul Mullin was on a “different level”.

With the decisive win over Accrington, star striker Mullin, who missed the start of the League Two season due to a collapsed lung and four fractured ribs sustained during the pre-season tour of America, increased his season total to 16 goals.

Parkinson claims Mullin was more motivated heading into the match against Accrington when he scored a last-minute equaliser from the penalty spot to win a 1-1 draw against Forest Green Rovers last Tuesday, after he had gone eight games without scoring.

“Mulls was outstanding,” Parkinson remarked after watching Wrexham climb to third position in the standings, two points ahead of Crewe Alexandra in fourth and three points behind leaders Mansfield.
