In light of Nottingham Forest’s dissatisfaction with judgements they believe have unfairly gone against them this season, Howard Webb has conducted discussions with the club.

Chief referee Webb is rumoured to have recently met with Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo and Mark Clattenburg, a former Premier League official who is currently a consultant for Forest.

According to Mail Sport, the owner Evangelos Marinakis challenged officials in the tunnel following Darwin Nunez’s game-winning goal in the ninth minute of stoppage time, just before to Forest’s home loss to Liverpool last Saturday.

After becoming enraged with referee Paul Tierney, the Lancashire official decided to work in the VAR room during Arsenal’s match against Brentford on Saturday instead of officiating a Premier League game.

However, Nuno’s complaints about refereeing calls predate his arrival at Forest; Steve Cooper, Nuno’s predecessor, was also upset about several of them.

Ivan Toney, a striker for the Bees, moved the ball before scoring from a free kick, but it was not penalised in Forest’s 3-2 loss at Brentford early in Nuno’s tenure.

A contentious offside call marred their FA Cup defeat on February 28 against Manchester United.

With Forest attacking last Saturday, Tierney halted play due to a head injury sustained by Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.

Rather than starting with an uncontested drop pass in Forest’s direction, Tierney sent the ball back to Liverpool, who scored almost immediately after.

Although Forest lost opportunities to clear before Nunez scored, they contend that the call changed the game’s course.

“The owner is quite upset because he has invested a lot of money in the football club and he wants to see results,” Clattenburg stated in remarks made following the game. He believes that the club has lost another decision. We’ll be in contact with the Premier League and the PGMOL to talk about the best course of action soon.
