As a result of his harsh criticism of the match referees following Celtic’s loss to Hearts, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has run afoul of the SFA.

Rodgers has been charged by the SFA as a result of his remarks, which were specifically directed at VAR officer John Beaton. This could result in further sanctions.

The case is related to Celtic’s recent 2-0 defeat in the Scottish Premiership, which was tainted by controversial calls, such as Yang’s dismissal for a high boot and a contested handball penalty against Tomoki Iwata. In his post-match interview, Rodgers did not hold back, addressing the VAR official by name and expressing his clear thoughts on the situations.

Martin Black, the SFA’s compliance officer, has filed a notice of complaint against Rodgers, alleging that he violated Rule 72, Article 96.1. This regulation forbids anyone involved in Scottish football from openly disparaging referees in a way that casts doubt on their integrity or implies bias or ineptitude. A two-to-20 game touchline ban might be imposed on Rodgers.

On Thursday, March 28, Rodgers is expected to attend a hearing at Hampden, where he will be informed of the repercussions for his remarks made after the game.

CeltsAreHere is aware that Celtic will support Rodgers all the way to the top.
