Leeds United’s next Championship matchup is against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night, when they will try to continue their winning streak.

Daniel Farke has stated that he has no additional significant injury concerns prior to the game, with the exception of Jaidon Anthony.

Farke was asked to provide an update on Pascal Struijk, who hasn’t played in more than two months, during the pre-game news conference.

Farke stated that the 24-year-old defender is a “key player” for the team, therefore it will be crucial for the Whites to get him back in good form before the end of the campaign as they try for automatic promotion.

This season, the adaptable defender has frequently worn the captain’s armband and has been an absolute gem for the Whites. This season, he has made 22 starts in the Championship and netted five goals for Leeds across all competitions.

After the international break, Farke anticipates his return to the team. According to him, the Dutch defender’s rapid development is “definitely good news” for the cubs.

Farke remarked, “It feels crazy that we never spoke about him in the last two months, and thank God we didn’t because our defence was excellent.”

“This season, he has worn the armband a lot. a fundamental element of our future. It is unlikely that he will return in peak condition on the first day.

He is really important. Not too far from team training; be back there by the end of the break at the latest. That is undoubtedly positive news.

Leeds will be boosted by the return of Pascal Struijk

The Whites will benefit greatly from having Struijk return to the lineup following the international break. Before he was hurt, he developed a solid relationship at the back with Joe Rodon.

But following his injury, Leeds had their greatest run in the Championship this year. In 11 consecutive Championship games, the Whites managed 10 victories and a draw thanks to the simple flourishing of Rodon and Ethan Ampadu’s combination.

The Dutch defender won’t find it simple to enter the starting lineup right immediately. Furthermore, Farke will likely start him from the bench until he regains his full sharpness, and then he will probably pick him into the starting lineup when the moment is appropriate.

Breaking the winning combination isn’t usually a smart move, so Struijk could have to wait for his opportunity. He is a valuable player who has the potential to have a significant impact on the season’s last few games.
