Dak Prescott, who signed a four-year, $160 million contract in 2021, is about to enter his final season. His massive $59.4 million cap number in 2024 presents the Dallas Cowboys with a significant financial challenge as they try to bolster their squad in anticipation of a possible Super Bowl run.
Even though it will be more difficult said than done, the 30-year-old signal-caller is confident that he and the Dallas Cowboys can hammer out a new contract extension that will result in him earning another enormous salary.
When asked if he was certain he would soon sign an extension with the Dallas Cowboys through Patrik Walker, Prescott responded, “I’m definitely confident.” It obviously benefits the team. It matters because of the figures. That is understood by both parties. Everything is excellent. It will occur.
For the Dallas Cowboys, extending Dak Prescott is not as simple as it would seem.
This summer, Jerry Jones, the general manager and owner of the Dallas Cowboys, promised that the organisation go “all-in” on assembling a strong roster. The Dallas Cowboys must, however, find other ways to make ends meet because they are over the payroll cap by almost $4 million.
Jones didn’t provide any details about their plans with the quarterback and the rest of the club, so it didn’t sound like he was all that excited about giving Prescott a new, big agreement.
Jones remarked, “We don’t have to, but we can if everyone wants to solve it.” You can enter, get things moving in the same direction, and try to reach a consensus. If not, the system we have in place functions well.

Dak Prescott, who finished with a 12-5 record, is coming off what may have been the best regular season of his NFL career. He completed 69.5 percent of passes for 4,516 yards with 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions.
But in the wild-card stage, the Mississippi State product looked smaller against the Green Bay Packers, throwing two interceptions in a 48-32 loss.
Jerry Jones is becoming weary of the Dallas Cowboys’ lack of postseason success as they are currently 2-5 in the playoffs and have not gone past the divisional round with Prescott at the centre.
