Nottingham Forest hope to have Nicolas Dominguez available for Sunday’s clash with Brighton and Hove Albion.

The midfielder was forced off with 10 minutes to go in last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool. He had to be helped off the pitch after picking up a knock.

Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo says the Argentine has recovered well during the week. However, a late assessment will be made when the Reds have their final training session on Saturday.

“He has recovered well,” Nuno said in his pre-match press conference. “He had a couple of days to recover and he seems well. We still have one more session to go, that’s when we will have a final update.” Nuno’s options against the Seagulls could be boosted by the return of some of Forest’s injured players. Midfielder Ibrahim Sangare was an unused substitute last weekend, while centre-back Willy Boly and striker Chris Wood have been back in training.

Nuno Tavares is still sidelined but fellow full-back Ola Aina was shown in some pictures posted by the club on social media of training this week. Gio Reyna could also be available again after missing last weekend due to a knock.

Asked about Wood’s fitness, Nuno said: “Let’s see. It is the same, he is still getting involved with the team so let’s wait and see.”

The Reds go into the game at the Amex Stadium looking to end a three-match losing run in all competitions. They sit 17th in the Premier League table, four points above third-bottom Luton Town.
