Charlie Crew is a young player in the U21s who Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has been keeping an eye on this season, as he alluded to this week.
For many years, Thorp Arch has served as a sort of talent factory, producing players who go on to shine at Elland Road or find success elsewhere in the EFL.
The only name that sticks out at the moment is Archie Grey, but Daniel Farke has recently been closely monitoring those in the U21s.

Daniel Farke was questioned about the young players at Thorp Arch right now, having more frequently included Mateo Joseph and Grey into his team, before this week’s matchup against Sheffield Wednesday.
He stated (via the YEP): “I’m noticing a couple of U21 players that he’s interested in. One of them is hurt right now, so that’s Charlie Crew, the midfielder.”
“We are obviously still keeping an eye on the progress, and we are being extremely cautious about following the one or two players who have also captured our attention.” However, I don’t want to talk about names too much since then they would carry too much responsibility.

Charlie Crew could be set for Leeds breakthrough in near future
Farke is correct to make it clear that he doesn’t aim to put any pressure on players with this kind of response, in addition to refraining from mentioning Crew or any other members of his youth team.
Anyone who has seen the U21s or U18s this season in any competition has already seen how impressive Crew is, and it appears that his midfield skills will soon transition to the senior game.
Although he still has time on his side at 17, the fact that Farke has already mentioned that he is keeping a close eye on him implies that it may not be long until we see him playing for the first team.
Preseason might be a good idea, but the promotion race isn’t the right moment to think about him receiving minutes.
