According to recent rumours, Leeds United may have just received a significant personnel boost, and Daniel Farke, the manager of the lilywhites, deserves a great deal of the credit. One individual is reportedly willing to devote his future to Elland Road.

Leeds continues to succeed.
With a 2-0 victory against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Friday night, Leeds continued to be in the running for automatic promotion in their first season outside of the Premier League.

Leeds overtook Ipswich Town for second position on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Wilfried Gnonto and Patrick Bamford. The Tractor Boys then suffered a stunning 2-1 defeat at Cardiff City.

With nine games remaining and a current point total of 79, it is likely that a record points total will be needed to guarantee automatic promotion from the English second tier this season. The previous high was 93 points, which was needed to finish in second place and qualify for the Premier League.

Leeds’ transfer business will be greatly impacted by their performance in the upcoming months, but regardless of the division they start 2024–25 in, they might very well be signing up one individual.

Rodon decides how Leeds will proceed.
TeamTalk claims that Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has “advised” Joe Rodon that he has no future in north London. Leeds, who the Lilywhites estimate to be worth £15 million, look prepared, they say.

Since Rodon’s contract expires in 2025, Leeds will have a better chance of acquiring their standout defender for a reduced cost on a long-term basis. Most significantly, because he is enjoying life under Farke so well, the player himself is claimed to be really pleased in Yorkshire and eager to sign a long-term deal, regardless of what level they are in.

Rodon, who joined Leeds United for the 2023–24 season, has been a standout player. He has made 34 appearances so far this season and is a key member of Leeds, who have the best defence in the division with just 28 goals allowed. He is a fan favourite in west Yorkshire and played an additional 90 minutes in their thrilling 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night.

Earlier in the season, after a 3-0 victory over Millwall, former Leeds player Jon Newsome praised Rodon as “outstanding.”

“Superb. Exceptionally good. For me, Joe Rodon was the star of the show. He was all over everything. “He truly was of a different calibre,” he extolled the virtues of the Welshman.

But despite having an outstanding season, Rodon’s future doesn’t seem to be at parent team Tottenham. Postecoglou has brought in two new central defenders in the months since he joined the team: Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin. Rodon is now further down the north London hierarchy than he was before, which might pave the way for a long-term move to Leeds.
