A furious Nuno Espirito Santo questioned Nottingham Forest’s decision to not drop Brighton & Hove Albion to ten men at the Amex Stadium, asking “why always.”

On the south coast, the Reds were defeated 1-0, with Andrew Omobamidele’s own goal in the first half proving to be the deciding factor. However, the visitors believed that if their opponents had sent a player off after the half, the game’s outcome might have been different.

With with 20 minutes remaining, Forest believed Jakub Moder ought to have been sent off for a challenge on Neco Williams. Referee Michael Salisbury was not given instructions by VAR to go to his pitchside monitor and evaluate the event, even though it was checked.

Nuno was furious at the choice made. And he issued the message, “Enough,” knowing that the Reds felt they had been unfairly treated by several referee calls this season.

“That’s a warning signal. It’s a major error—we’re not sure how the match would play out, but in today’s football, having an additional player on the pitch has a significant impact’, Nuno stated.

“We were winning the game. We were in control and causing Brighton issues.

“The VAR made a poor choice. In addition to judging the referee, I also saw the image, and the clear red card is shown there.

Week after week goes along. the next week. We accept them, and they apologise, but it doesn’t matter since it costs us money. We’re in a difficult situation. Respect is something we require, end of story.

“The referees were outstanding when I first arrived in England a few years back. I recognise that they lost a number of very capable and seasoned referees all of a sudden. We don’t have enough time, but new referees are arriving and they will require time and understanding to improve. As professionals, we are time-constrained.

“What is happening? What’s going on, but I don’t want to go that route because I’ll get into trouble. Why are we always the ones? Why?

“That’s a warning signal. Why? Is there anyone here who can tell me they have a different perspective? Isn’t it so clear-cut? You already know what will happen: they will issue an apology in two days.

A week before to the incident, there were tumultuous scenes at the City Ground following referee Paul Tierney’s mistake during Forest’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool. That time, play was paused for what appeared to be a head injury, and the Reds were left fuming when they did not recover possession of the ball.

When they see us, they apologise. Everyone knows what went wrong. I’m not sure how many errors we’ve made, but there have been a lot,” Nuno went on.

“I believe it’s enough that I’m trying to be sincere, maintain my composure, and show respect. It suffices.

“We defeated West Ham, but they denied us a clear penalty.” Why? Why weren’t they giving one to us? Why did Liverpool get control of Paul Tierney’s body? Why did they not award us a penalty against Newcastle when we had come back from a two-goal deficit?

“Even for today’s game, we have no idea how it will end. I say that all of these things are sufficient. Complete. Tell me what’s going on, please, since it’s always us. What’s happening?
