Regardless of whether Leeds United gets promoted back to the Premier League, it has been claimed that they will start negotiations to sign Joe Rodon with Spurs.
This is in line with recent rumours, such as this one from GiveMeSport, which state that the Whites “have a strong chance” of making the Welshman’s loan swap permanent and that they can still negotiate with Daniel Levy despite being in a lower league.
Rodon, 26, who joined on a season-long loan last summer, has emerged as Daniel Farke’s defensive focal point.
One of the Championship’s most tenacious defenders, the Spurs loanee appears to be enjoying his time in Yorkshire.
Furthermore, Leeds are in a strong position to come to an arrangement with their English rivals because Rodon’s Spurs contract is about to expire in less than 18 months.
Leeds is hoping to get a player who is now rated at just €6 million (Transfermarkt), as he could be among the smartest additions Leeds makes this summer.
Rodon, who has played for Wales 43 times, has appeared in 38 games since the season began, starting 33 of them in the Championship.
