Marley Wilson, a teenage player for Leeds United, will be “sidelined for a number of months,” per LUFC Youth.
The announcement was posted on the club’s unofficial academy-focused Twitter handle on Tuesday, March 12.
Wilson had a back injury, and although a specific comeback date has not been announced, the promising young player may be sidelined for several months.
Leeds United Under-18s suffer a setback from Marley Wilson’s injury.
Wilson, who has participated in four FA Youth Cup games and eight U18 Premier League games, has been a mainstay for the age-grade team this season.
The 18-year-old’s skill has also been evident, as seen by the 10 goals he has scored in those 12 games combined.
In fact, Wilson scores in the league at a pace of one goal every 84 minutes, according to Transfermarkt, which is quite the return.
The English attacker has a lot of expectations for the future, including being a regular for Leeds’ senior team, but for the time being, he has to concentrate on getting better from this back ailment.
Football players inevitably experience setbacks like these, but perhaps Wilson will be able to bounce back quickly from his injury and return to full condition.
