Sabah Spor reports that Borna Barisic is “very close” to joining Trabzonspor on a free transfer this summer after leaving Rangers.

The Turkish news agency stated on their official Twitter account on March 11 that the 31-year-old left-back was formerly targeted by the Super Lig team, but a trade never came together.

With his Gers contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, a permanent departure from Ibrox now appears to be imminent, with the player’s representative scheduled to fly to Turkey to explore a deal in the coming days.

Rangers are scheduled to remove the deadwood.
With his transfers at Ibrox, Philippe Clement has already created quite a stir, and the summer window will probably mean even more to him.

Prior to suffering a two-month injury layoff, Oscar Cortes was a standout player on the wing; Fabio Silva and Mo Diomande have been fantastic additions to the team.

youthful left back After a disastrous January transfer, Jefte is expected to sign for free, but Barisic isn’t as valuable as he once was since Ridvan Yilmaz has established himself as the first-choice option in that position.

Given that the Croatian is well past his prime and that Rangers would be saddled with a declining player if they were to offer him a new contract, doing so would simply be a poor financial choice.

It’s unfortunate that the club didn’t act appropriately to obtain a fee, but it makes sense to let him go.
