James McClean received a warning against Harrogate on Tuesday, therefore he will miss Wrexham’s next two league games.

Consequently, what happened?
The Red Dragons exerted every effort to achieve a result at the SToK Racecourse, but a resilient Harrogate defense kept them in a 0-0 deadlock, leaving them dissatisfied. Additionally, Phil Parkinson’s evening was further soured by McClean’s booking, since his team might have tied Mansfield Town on points if they had won all three on Tuesday.

THE LARGER IMAGE
Having already received nine yellow cards going into this game, McClean had to exercise caution throughout the entire ninety minutes. But he was penalized for a thoughtless moment when he pulled on Levi Sutton, forcing the referee to book him for the tenth time this season and resulting in a two-game suspension.

WERE YOU AWARENESS?
Following the encounter against Harrogate, which was the 37th game of the League Two season, McClean’s card total would have been reset. He was unable to hold on for the final 17 minutes before full time, though, and he was sent out for the next two games for an illegal tackle.

FUTURE PLANS FOR McCLEAN?
McClean will not be available for selection for the two games on March 16 and 23, respectively, against Grimsby Town and Tranmere. Notably, Parkinson’s team still leads the League Two summit by two points after Tranmere’s 2-1 victory against Mansfield on Tuesday.
