Newcastle United will be hoping to make a second straight season at Wembley Stadium in order to get over their loss to Chelsea on Monday night.

They will face Manchester City, the triple winners, in the FA Cup quarterfinal on Saturday night at 5:30 p.m., so it won’t be simple. Only once, in the 2014 League Cup, did Newcastle defeat Man City 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium. Since then, they haven’t advanced to the FA Cup semifinals.

A handful of injuries are a concern for the Magpies going into the game as well. While Harvey Barnes is still recovering from a minor hamstring injury and Kieran Trippier is out until after the game, Anthony Gordon sustained a knee injury at Chelsea, making him a serious question for the trip.

None of those players were shown this week in Newcastle’s training gallery, as was to be expected. Other well-known athletes like Tino Livramento and Miguel Almiron were also left off the roster.

Dan Burn, however, had returned to training after being carted off at Chelsea following an ungainly fall onto his back.

Please note that just because a player isn’t in the club gallery doesn’t mean they didn’t practice that day. However, a player’s presence or absence ahead of an impending game may be a sign of possible team and injury news.

The players of Newcastle United are listed here according to whether or not they were photographed during training this week.
