It has been stated that Nottingham Forest may have to wait a few more days to find out if they will face any consequences for breaking financial regulations.

In January, the Premier League filed charges against the Reds for allegedly breaking the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). They started their defense against that charge last Thursday and Friday in front of an impartial commission.

According to Premier League regulations, the commission “must provide its decision” no later than one week following the hearing’s conclusion. The Athletic, however, reports that a ruling is now not anticipated until Monday.

Premier League clubs are only permitted to lose a maximum of £105 million over a rolling three-year period, or £35 million every season, according to financial regulations. This is lowered for promoted teams, therefore the Reds are only allowed to lose £61 million over the last three seasons—£13 million for the two Championship seasons before promotion and an additional £35 million for the most recent one. It is yet unknown how far the club has gone beyond the limit.

On Saturday, Forest hosts Luton Town, their relegation rivals, in a crucial match at Kenilworth Road. Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo stated prior to the game that he would prefer to know the exact nature of any potential point punishment as soon as possible.

In response to a question on the club learning their fate, he stated, “No, we are not nervous,” during his pre-match press conference on Thursday. “We have been waiting since we learned there would be a hearing. Let’s observe and wait.

The precise timing of it is unknown. That will be handled by the club. As a squad, we just pay attention to what happens on the field.
