Oliver Glasner has already sent a message to Crystal Palace’s youth, indicating that he is eager to make use of them.
Oliver Glasner has only been at Selhurst Park for a month, but he has already made a big impression on the team.
Above all, the environment around the club has improved, and Crystal Palace now seems to have a truly positive vibe. This is evident in the fact that he has started introducing academy kids, something clubs typically only do in good times.
Glasner added four relatively unknown prospects to the team for this week’s warm-weather training camp in Marbella: Kaden Rodney, Danny Imray, Franco Umeh, and Justin Devenny.
He has now messaged them.
Oliver Glasner addresses children at Crystal Palace
While in Marbella, Glasner spoke with club media about the gifted young players on his roster and conveyed a message to them.
“They are able to demonstrate their abilities and qualities. I want to see them demonstrate their strengths, and they can do that. Errors are unimportant to me.
“Prove your skills, as this is the reason they have enrolled in our institution. They have a chance to join the starting lineup.
“They perform incredibly well in the training sessions, and we help them in the same way that we help every player.”
Glasner will use the youth, but Palace must improve the academy
Bringing the kids along to Marbella does indicate that he is eager to see the Palace kids in the hopes of utilizing them.
If he follows through on his desire to trust youth, the club should be encouraged to recruit gifted players from around the globe to join the academy since the long-term advantages will be enormous.
Brighton is a prime example of this, having successfully enlisted youngsters into its youth system and enjoying the benefits ever since.
Heavy investment was unnecessary under Roy Hodgson because there was little likelihood that the kids would be deployed; however, under Glasner, this may be a very effective tactic.
