Wes Burns’s hamstring injury, sustained during the first half of the Blues’ 6-0 thumping of Sheffield Wednesday, doesn’t appear to be a small issue, according to Town manager Kieran McKenna. Conor Chaplin, meanwhile, has a strain to his side/back.

Burns, who is almost definitely going to be left out of the Wales team, hobbled down the tunnel in the 38th minute after winning the corner that resulted in Town’s second goal, and Chaplin was not included in the 20-man roster for the first time this league season.

McKenna commented, “It looks bad; it’s a hamstring.” It doesn’t appear to be a minor one, and it doesn’t feel like one either.

That is without a doubt the low point of today, but we will examine and evaluate it over the course of the next few days.

“In the dressing room, everyone is heartbroken for Wes, and we’re just crossing our fingers that the severity isn’t as bad as it could be.”

“Conor has a strain in his side/back, so he picked that up very early in the training week, so he wasn’t available for today, so we’ll have to see how he recovers,” the speaker continued in reference to Chaplin.
