Reiss Nelson, an Arsenal winger, is being watched by Brighton in anticipation of a possible summer transfer, sources have told Football Insider.
The 24-year-old may try to leave the Emirates Stadium at the end of the current campaign since he has fallen down the hierarchy.
It is known that the Seagulls have high regard for Nelson and think he may excel in Roberto De Zerbi’s system as an inverted-winger, much like Kaoru Mitoma.
Nelson may be able to move this summer for a fee of between £25 and £30 million, according to the Gunners.
Nelson is a versatile player who can play on either wing, but he isn’t getting as many opportunities as players in North London like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
In light of Brighton’s interest, should Arsenal cash in on Nelson this summer?
He has made 23 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions for a total of just 654 minutes, however he has yet to start a Premier League game this season.
Nelson signed a long-term agreement with Arsenal in the summer of 2023, meaning his contract with the club has four years left on it.
After making his debut in the first team, the Arsenal academy product spent two seasons on loan at Feyenoord and Hoffenheim.
Since making his senior squad debut in 2017, Nelson has made 88 first-team appearances for Arsenal; during that time, he has tallied eight goals and nine assists.
