According to Wednesday’s Bild, Brighton & Hove Albion has their sights set on Hertha BSC rookie Ibrahim Maza.
After rising through the club’s academy, the 18-year-old was given a chance to play for the senior squad the previous season.
Maza’s ailments kept him out of action for the initial part of this season. He has played six games and accrued 244 minutes since returning to full fitness, scoring one goal.
The offensive midfielder appears to have captured the interest of the Seagulls despite his little playing time for the German second division team. The player is allegedly “on the list” at Brighton.
Werder Bremen attempted to get the Germany U18 international in the summer after Hertha BSC was demoted from the Bundesliga the previous season. He was allowed to stay with them, though, and his contract is good until 2026.
Following the match against Schalke the previous weekend, the young player declined to commit to Hertha BSC in the long run.
“I’m afraid I can’t say that just now. He remarked, “I’m still debating it with my family.
Bild say this is because representatives from Brighton and VfB Stuttgart have come to observe him play.
