One pundit believes that Celtic’s chances of defeating Rangers in the title match are dependent on one key element.
After the Light Blues were postponed at Dundee, Brendan Rodgers’ team leads Philippe Clement’s team by one point going into the international break, despite having played one extra game. Since an SPFL investigation is ongoing following the FOURTH Dens Park postponement of this campaign, a replacement date has not yet been scheduled.
In those final eight games, Celtic will play Rangers TWICE. Twice, at Ibrox immediately following the international break and once more at Parkhead amid the league division. These outcomes will be crucial for the Hoops’ chances of winning the league title this year, but Falkirk captain Stephen McGinn believes that Cameron Carter-Vickers has to be in the team for every minute of every game for the Hoops to succeed. ‘Pivotal’ is how fellow commentator and Celtic fan favorite John Hartson described him, praising his skills once more.
Speaking on Go Radio, McGinn stated: “Kyogo, in my opinion, was a massive plus for Celtic. He appears really well-groomed. You are always assessed by yourself, and this season he hasn’t always appeared that way. Are they asking because of the manager’s shift in style or something else? Though it was the brightness and crispness of it, he always makes runs. His goal is moving in an incredible way. How can you put an end to that?
“How important is Cameron Carter-Vickers to Celtic? If they want to win this league, Carter-Vickers needs to play eighty-five minutes or more. I feel like I say this every week.”
Hartson added: “He is pivotal. I’ve waxed lyrical about him many times on this show. For a centre-back he is quick, brave and great in both boxes.
“He can emerge with the ball given the way Celtics play. He is a defender who creates plays. He makes the correct decisions on the field most of the time and has extremely precise passing.”
