As the last few months of the 2023–2024 season approach, teams are beginning to make arrangements about their summer transfer window expenditures.

The Scottish Premiership still has a lot of action to watch, especially because Rangers and Celtic, the two teams vying for the title, are currently separated by just one point. Let’s take a look at some of the most recent links because their trophy battle will also have an impact on their ability to hire on the transfer market.

Rangers star accepts ‘big money’ move

Given that Borna Barišić of the Rangers is nearing the end of his contract at Ibrox, there has been a lot of discussion about his future plans. The left-back is expected to sign with a new team after leaving Rangers at the end of the current campaign.

Football Insider claims that Barišić and Trabzonspor, who have been connected to the Croatian international for some time, have finally come to an agreement. He has ‘signed terms’ with the Turkish organization and accepted a ‘huge money offer’ to go to the Süper Lig, according to the report.

Rangers are pleased to approve Barišić’s departure this summer and “have had no plans” to extend an offer to him.

Celtic receives praise for their unsuccessful transfer
Many clubs had relatively quiet January transfer windows; some due to their own decisions, some because they couldn’t find the bargains they were hoping to score on their winter shopping lists. Hugo Bueno, a long-term target for Celtic, is now having difficulty getting regular playing time with Wolves in the Premier League.

Even though the Hoops may not have been able to sign the left-back, Bueno’s arrival at Celtic Park “is still possible,” according to a recent TEAMtalk report, suggesting that a summer transfer may be in order. The 21-year-old is apparently “open to the experience of playing in Scotland” and hopes to get more playing time the next season.

The Hoops consider finding a new left-back to be a “priority,” so when the summer transfer window opens, this may be a great help.
