Though he says he is “really happy” with Newcastle United, Bruno Guimaraes says he has “goals” of going “down the line.”

With his £40 million move from Lyon in January 2022, Guimaraes has become one of Newcastle’s most significant players and a Premier League star.

The 26-year-old, who plays frequently for Brazil, assisted Newcastle in placing fourth and earning a Champions League berth the previous campaign.

Even though Eddie Howe’s team has underperformed this season and is currently in 10th place with ten games left, Guimaraes is still a target for some of the biggest teams in the globe.

Champions of the Premier League Manchester City are rumored to be planning a £100 million bid for the 26-year-old, but Chelsea and Liverpool—two teams that really like the player—will probably put up a fight.

The anticipated appointment of former Newcastle executive Dan Ashworth as sporting director may heighten Manchester United’s interest in Guimaraes, who has also been linked to the Red Devils.

Before Brazil’s friendly match against England at Wembley, Guimaraes stated, “It’s always been my dream to play here,” at a press conference. I’ve watched the Premier League my entire life, and I’ve always wanted to be here.

“I believe that everything in my life, both personally and professionally, has gone well since I joined Newcastle.”

“I’m thrilled to be playing in the world’s greatest league with the best players.” I do intend to stay and play here for a very long time, but I also want to move for other reasons.

“But I’m really happy to be here in the league; this is something more down the line.”

Guimaraes is expected to be monitored by French champions Paris Saint-Germain and Spanish powerhouse Barcelona. Guimaraes is scheduled to make his Newcastle comeback on March 30 against West Ham.
