Football Insider has been informed by sources that Nottingham Forest may be obliged to sanction sales of their top five players this summer if they are demoted or forced to sell because of FFP restrictions.
In the midst of an uncertain future at the City Ground, it is thought that Taiwo Awoniyi, Danilo, Anthony Elanga, Murillo, and Morgan Gibbs-White may be sacrificed.
Due to their outstanding accomplishments since joining the team in the summers of 2022 and 2023, respectively, Gibbs-White and Murillo are valued assets of the organization.
Football Insider has also been informed by reliable sources that Elanga is being looked up to following a successful debut season without Premier League powerhouse Manchester United.
Nottingham Forest is getting ready for its summer fire sale.
Awoniyi and Danilo are also seen as important assets, and should Forest be forced to sell, teams are likely to be interested in acquiring them both.
The Reds’ Premier League survival was seriously jeopardized on Monday, March 18, when they received a catastrophic four-point deduction that dropped them to 18th position, below Luton Town.
Forest was punished after an independent panel determined that they had overreached by £34.5 million over their authorized losses cap of £61 million. However, insiders have told Football Insider (March 21) that they are “very unlikely” to contest the allegation.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s team has just nine games left to save themselves from the bottom with just 21 points.
Last Saturday (16 March), Forest lost 1-1 to Luton Town, another team fighting for relegation, at Kenilworth Road after giving up an equalizer in the 89th minute.
On March 30, they will host Crystal Palace at the City Ground following the international break.
